  • Label and date marker
Method

Step-by-Step Directions

1

Prepare the bottle

Use a clean, completely dry 4-ounce bottle. Water in the container can shorten the useful life of an oil-only preparation.

2

Add the jojoba oil

Measure 2 fl oz jojoba oil into the bottle or into a small measuring cup.

3

Add the lighter carrier oil

Add 1 fl oz MCT or fractionated coconut oil. This helps keep the finished blend light and easy to spread.

4

Add avocado oil

Add ½ fl oz avocado oil for a slightly richer feel without making the entire blend heavy.

5

Add rosemary-infused oil

Add ½ fl oz rosemary-infused oil and gently swirl or roll the bottle to combine.

6

Add optional vitamin E

If using it, add ¼ teaspoon vitamin E and mix thoroughly. Vitamin E helps slow oxidation but does not act as a preservative.

7

Label the bottle

Write the formula name and date on the bottle so you can track freshness and repeat the same blend later.

How to Use It

Scalp Treatment or Finishing Oil

As a Scalp Oil

Part the hair in sections and apply a small amount directly to the scalp. Massage gently, leave on for the amount of time that works for your hair, then shampoo as needed. Start with less oil than you think you need.

On Hair Lengths & Ends

Rub one or two drops between your palms and smooth lightly over dry ends or flyaways. Fine hair usually needs only a very small amount.

Storage

Keeping the Oil Fresh

Protect From Heat & Light

Keep the bottle tightly closed and store it away from direct sunlight, humidity, and heat. A dark bottle can provide additional light protection.

Use Fresh Oils

The useful life of the blend is limited by the freshness of the carrier oils. Discard it if the smell becomes stale or rancid or if the appearance changes unexpectedly.

For topical use. Patch test before broader scalp use. Avoid contact with eyes. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. This is a cosmetic hair and scalp oil recipe and is not presented as a treatment for hair-loss disorders or scalp disease.
